Original National Geographic Society edition published in June 1947, a fascinating historical period when cartography was just beginning to document the post-World War II world and the new polar air routes.

The map covers the vast territories of Canada, Alaska, and Greenland. What makes it special is not only its age, but also the technique used: it was one of the first to use the "Chamberlin Trimetric" projection, specifically designed to reduce the distortions typical of Arctic areas and offer an incredibly faithful view of those wild lands.

The generous dimensions (approximately 86 x 66 cm) and the splendid color palette typical of National Geographic prints of the period make it a perfect furnishing accessory: it is an object that captures the eye and invites you to discover every small geographical detail.

The map is in excellent condition, with some yellowing, and retains its original folds, authentic evidence of its distribution within the historic yellow magazine.
