Ethnic Teak Wood Screen, 20th Century
SOLD OUT
Rare pair of Casaccia bedside tables, designed by Italian master Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena in the early 1960s. Conceived as true examples of functional micro-architecture, these pieces perfectly embody the designer’s philosophy: essential forms, measured details, and a quiet yet rigorous beauty
Crafted from walnut veneer, the design features a rounded structure with seamless, edge-free contours and a series of elegantly curved open shelves. Their enveloping silhouette and balanced proportions make them ideal not only as bedside tables, but also as versatile storage pieces for refined and sophisticated interiors
Each table includes six shelves, with the top and bottom fixed, while the four central ones can be adjusted in height thanks to an internal metal support system, allowing for a fully customizable configuration
Both pieces are in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of use consistent with age, mostly visible on the top surface (documented in the photos). The original patina has been preserved; the pieces have not been restored, but have been gently cleaned and polished to highlight their authentic character
The price is for both bedside tables
Historical note: Luigi Caccia Dominioni was one of the key figures in postwar Italian architecture and design. Co-founder of Azucena in 1947 with Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua, he designed furnishings that have now become cult objects. The Casaccia model best represents his essential yet sophisticated style
